The People’s Operator – a wireless provider that gives back

|

I am an ambassador for The People’s Operator. This story is part of that ambassadorship.

On July 21st officially launched in the United States.  Founded in 2012, The People’s Operator first launched in the United Kingdom; matching the ability to raise funds for a wide range of social causes with a high quality mobile service and excellent customer service.  By offering to donate 10% of each customer’s monthly wireless bill to a cause of their choice, TPO is committed to instigate a global movement for good.

The People's Operator

Mark Epstein, CEO, The People’s Operator said: “In addition to making a difference for causes, we want to make sure we’re ‘delivering goodness’ to our customers too. It’s important to us that we deliver highly competitive deals and a great quality of service in addition to the mission to make a difference.”

“With TPO, you’ll still see competitive rates with bundles starting from just $9 and we’ve worked hard to train our customer service teams, all based in the US, to deliver a seamless, high-quality customer service experience.”

The newly-launched TPO Community, on  by Jimmy Wales, the founder of Wikipedia, will offer cause-related testimonials, news updates, videos from charity partners and the community they support – a key component to TPO’s call-to-action strategy – and incentives to join the TPO social movement.  Jimmy Wales is serving as Chairman of The People’s Operator.

Jimmy Wales was quoted saying: “The launch of TPO in America is an incredible milestone for the business. This is only the beginning of the social good we will initiate with the support of our customers and collaborations with additional charities who are joining our goodness movement. TPO puts customers and the causes they care about first, so the more we can facilitate the company’s growth in the US, the more funds we will be able to pass to the communities that need it while our portfolio of cause partners continues to grow.”

Mobile Phone Service that Gives Back to Charity

As you may know from reading my blog, I am a strong supporter of many charitable causes.  From our dedication to the Make-a-Wish Foundation after Gabby received her Wish Trip, sponsoring a child monthly through Compassion and my passion for teenage pregnancy prevent – there are many causes close to my heart.  That is what makes me proud to be an ambassador for The People’s Operator.  I love seeing their movement in action.

As part of my monthly bill TPO is donating to my charity of choice and I have selected to focus my efforts on awareness for pediatric strokes.  Gabby’s stroke in utero is what kicked off all her special needs – leading to Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy and, ultimately, her brain surgeries.  I was in the dark back in 2002 when I first found out she had a stroke while I was pregnant.  I was scared and felt very alone.  I had no idea what our future held.

I am extremely impressed by the monthly mobile plans as well.  My first question asked to TPO was if the rates for their mobile service was higher than what I was already spending, in that case I could just donate my own funds each month to charity.  Surprisingly, their rates are lower!  Plus, no contracts.  Not only would I save money on my monthly cellphone bill, I would also be helping raise money for my cause of choice and build awareness.

TPO is doing much more than just donating 10% of proceeds; they are building a community and are on a mission to make a difference.  Members of the community can even make individual donations to other charities or causes they feel inspired to support at any given time.  You can join the community free even before having TPO as your service provider.  Head over and visit to learn more and signup today.

Full Disclosure: This post is part of my blog ambassadorship with The People’s Operator. All opinions are 100% my own.

If you could donate 10% of your monthly mobile bill, which charity that is close to your heart would you support?
