Breaking Dawn Candy Bar
Setting up the candy bar {self-serve treats station} for our Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 party was a huge hit! I enjoyed putting together some special treats and finding candy to match our theme. Since the movie came out in November it was very easy to find Christmas candy already wrapped in red, silver and/or white.
I used various size vases and clear glass candy dishes to display the goodies. The decorations were simple as well. I offset the height of some of the vases by sitting them on top of the Twilight Saga books. Hobby Lobby was my go to store for decorations. I was able to find large chess pieces in black and red. Hobby Lobby also offers a large selection of flowers and feathers. They were the least expensive place to find the boas and the feather black/white balls I used on the candy station. I also purchased the red boxes {similar to Chinese food containers} for the guests to fill with their desired sweets at Hobby Lobby.
Sweets Included:
- Kit Kat bars in red and white wrapping
- Individually wrapped red life savers
- Cherry flavored chewing gum
- Hershey Kisses in red and silver wrapping
- Strawberry flavored suckers
- Christmas Oreos with red filling
- Red Pixie Sticks
- Red Velvet Cakepops with chocolate and cream cheese icing
- Chocolate covered pretzel sticks
- S’mores on a stick with red sour candy
Making the s’mores on a stick was super easy and everyone loved them.
I took some graham crackers, put them in a ziplock bag and crushed them with my hand. The kids think it’s fun to pound crackers into crumbs so feel free to grab some mommy’s helpers for this task. I placed a large marshmallow on a stick {found in the baking section, near candy melts} and dipped into melted chocolate about half way. Before the chocolate cools dip the top in the crushed graham cracker, you can press the marshmallow down onto the plate for it to stick right on the chocolate. Tada! Super simple, right? Since the sticks were long I added a few pieces of the sour candy strips by poking holes in the candy and it slid right on.
All the party guests were able to fill their boxes with the treats of their choice to snack on during the party and while we stood in line to see Breaking Dawn. The candy bar made the perfect addition to our Breaking Dawn Party for treats on the go and to curve those midnight munchies.
I love this so much. I haven’t watched any of these films but hope to play catch up some day as so many love them. These candy bars rock! I stumbled this post!
