Back in July BuckDaddy tweeted about entering a contest over at BenSpark.com. Of course tweeting about this contest was counted as an entry, otherwise he would have kept it a secret. Main reason he would have stayed silent is because when you enter contests and tell others, they sometimes enter. Good example: I saw Buck’s tweet and realized it was about IzeaFest (which I had already read about and knew I wanted to attend) so I clicked on over to the post and decided it sure looked like a great contest to be a part of. End result: I won. However, BuckDaddy did win a full pass into IzeaFest as well, so don’t feel too sorry for him.
During IzeaFest some of the attendees handed out swag bags. Mama Snow gave out postcard size entry forms for a giveaway she was holding on Saturday. The prize was Piggy Paint. Buck and I both, along with others I’m sure, filled out the entry form. Saturday Tasha drew my name and yet again Buck lost. Okay, now you can feel a little sorry for him.
So now that Buck is totally convinced I beat him at everything we have decided to band together on a project. Thus started ‘Because I said so’ with mom and dad editions.
This will be a weekly post where I will publish my thoughts on a specific topic or question here on MommaDJane.com and Buck will publish his thoughts on the same question or topic over at BuckDaddyBlog.com. We will not compare notes or discuss the topic beforehand. We will schedule our posts to go live around the same time and our readers can read the male and female or mom and dad points of views.
Have a topic or question you would like to hear our views on? Have you always wanted to hear both sides of a topic or answers to a question, unbiased? You can submit topics or questions via comments or even anonymously to djane (at) mommadjane (dot) com. We will pick questions at random and blog on one topic per week.
That’s so awesome you two! I don’t have any questions but can’t wait to read both of your views, this shall be fun!

Great idea! I would LOVE to hear the female/male perspectives on various topics.
Okay three questions involving the kitchen. And yes, these are things that go on in our house. I have an entire volume dedicated to this sort of thing. 🙂
1) What’s your take on making dinner and clean up? Should the person making the dinner be exempt from cleaning up? Should the other person be on clean up duty? Should it fully be a shared duty? Should husbands and wives trade off? Should each person be required to at least carry their own plate (after having dinner) to the sink area?
2) If you have small children, should both parents (if there are two, of course) share the responsibility of getting the kids’ plates ready at dinner-time? Or do you think it’s perfectly acceptable for one person to serve themselves, sit down to eat, and leave the other person to ready the childrens’ plates (serving, cutting, etc.)?
3) Is it REALLY a male gene that prevents them from finding ANYTHING in the fridge or pantry if it’s behind something else?
