My Waffle Breakfast Sandwich recipe was inspired by our recent visit to the Eggo Waffle Bar Truck at our local Walmart this last weekend. The boys and I had a great time spinning the wheel and selecting delicious toppings to add to our waffles.

Of course, the teen got ice cream and hot fudge added to his waffle while I went with peanut butter and banana, yummy!

It is so cool that the Eggo Waffle Bar Truck is traveling around to serve fresh, free waffles with up to three toppings of your choice at local Walmart stores. The Waffle Bar Truck will move a total of 200 times over 100+ days. Started in April and will continue through September!

Setting up a Waffle Bar is the perfect solution for your next get together. With Independence Day right around the corner many people will be hosting family and friends over to celebrate the holiday. A Waffle Bar can be served as breakfast, brunch or even dessert, no matter the time of day.

Start by toasting a couple of different Eggo waffle options. I offered Kellogg’s® Eggo® Homestyle and Kellogg’s® Eggo® Blueberry. My family is half-way divided. I love the original Eggo Homestyle waffles while my girls love the Eggo Blueberry waffles.

Delicious News! Eggo waffles now have no artificial flavors and colors from natural sources.

While shopping at Walmart for my Waffle Bar ingredients I picked up Banquet® Brown’N Serve™ Original Sausage Links and Hungry Jack® Original Syrup to make it complete.

Offer a variety of waffle toppings on your waffle bar. Since our waffle bar was setup for breakfast, I offered scrambled eggs, sausage, shredded cheese, fresh fruit and syrup. Place your toppings in separate bowls or jars for each person to select the options they want.

Waffle Breakfast Sandwich Recipe

  • 1 Eggo Homestyle Waffle
  • 1 Banquet® Brown’N Serve™ Original Sausage Link
  • 1 egg – scrambled
  • 1 teaspoon shredded cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon Hungry Jack Original Syrup

First, cut your Eggo Homestyle waffle in half to make the outer sandwich. Then layer a small amount of scrambled egg and your sliced sausage.

Sprinkle on some shredded cheese. It will naturally melt onto your scrambled egg from the heat of the food.

Finally, drizzle on a small amount of syrup. Try to avoid adding too much otherwise it’ll be messy when you pick it up to eat.

Now your Waffle Breakfast Sandwich is ready to eat!

Or you can follow in my teen’s footsteps by toasting an Eggo Blueberry waffle and topping with fresh sliced banana and Hungry Jack Original Syrup.

Our Waffle Bar was a success!

  1. This is such a great idea. We eat these often at my house. My grandchildren love them. I would never have thought to do this. Thank you for sharing
