Toyota and Teen Vogue – Arrive in Style

|

When I was notified about the Toyota and Teen Vogue Arrive in Style mission I knew I had to sit down with my teen daughter and sign the pledge.  Toyota sent my teen and I a beauty kit and are providing one for me to give away to one of my lucky readers in promotion of their mutual driving agreement – to encourage each of you to head over and sign the pledge with your teen.

Moms and daughters will be able to take the safe driving pledge until 12/20/13, which makes you eligible to win a monthly beauty box from Teen Vogue.
After signing the pledge, you can also post an “air driving” picture on the site for a chance to win a trip to NYC to be featured in Teen Vogue. Photos must be uploaded to the site by 9/3/13 in order to be entered in the NYC trip contest.

T and I went over each step on the pledge together by carefully reading them aloud.  Each section had its own topic and made great talking points.

In addition to posting photos on the “Arrive in Style” site, you can also share your “air driving” photos on Instagram with the hashtag #arriveinstyle — since that is a great platform to raise awareness as well!

An easy Facebook “share” feature will pop up on the “Arrive in Style” site after you sign the pledge.  By sharing your pledge with your online community you will earn extra entries into the monthly beauty box giveaway hosted by Teen Vogue.

Why Teen Vogue?

Teen Vogue really shares in Toyota’s commitment to empower girls to be safe on the road, so Toyota couldn’t have picked a better partner to create such a unique, fun and informative program with.

With a readership of nearly 3.5 million and an additional 3 million plus social followers, Teen Vogue was the ideal partner to get this message out to teen girls.

Toyota’s Commitment to Safe Driving:

Toyota offers a variety of resources to help all teens become safer drivers – from behind the wheel safe driving clinics, to online games and resources – and this initiative with Teen Vogue is a wonderful way to not only bring awareness to important teen driving issues, but also let teens and parents know that Toyota is here with resources to help them.

Head over to sign the mutual driving agreement with your teen and then enter to win a beauty box below!  Not only will you be automatically entered to win a beauty box from Teen Vogue’s website, you’ll also have a chance to win one from mine.

  1. I would tell them to cut out all possible distractions such as their phone and the radio, that way they can focus all their attention on driving.

  2. Always leave yourself a couple mins. when possible to just make sure you have all you need for whatever trip, your phone is off during driving, you have a couple bucks in your pocket or hid somewhere in the car in case of emergency, and your mirrors, windows, and mind is clear to drive!

  3. no texting or phone use, wear your seat belt at all times,no more than 3 people in the car at any time

  4. Don’t text & drive & don’t talk on the phone while driving. Also keep the music down.

  5. No phones or other distracting devices in operation while driving. If you have to make a call or answer a text, pull over.

  6. First thing pop the phone in the dash on silent next up seat belt. The two things I am always reminding

  7. we constantly remind ours that they are not driving just for themselves, but also for the cars in front, sides and behind them. anticipate the worst and prepare for the best. thanks for the great giveaway!

  8. I would advise concentration, no cell, turn signals, and enjoy driving.
Always watch out for the other guy.

  9. Keep the cell phone put away. If it’s a girl, leave it in the purse until she gets to her destination.

  10. The most important tip to keep teen drivers safe is no driving at night with friends.

  11. No using the phone for anything while driving….pull over if you need to use your phone for calling or texting.

  12. My parents taught me to obey the two second rule religiously. By staying two seconds behind the car in front of me (which can be tricky), I kept my focus on the road and have avoided accidents.

  13. No more than 1 passenger in the car at a time. And absolutely no using the cell phone for anything while driving.

  14. Never allow your eyes, hands, your mind leave the road. Never get mad when they didn’t get the text to pick something up on their way home. Make sure they know anything can wait. Always look for directions before leaving.

  15. Phone stays out of sight! Texting and driving is nearly as bad or worse as drinking and driving!

  16. Of course no cell phone use of any kind, and also to be equipped with an emergency kit. I also have really worked with my duaghter on paying attention to other drivers because a lot of times it is other drivers that are not paying attention!

  17. I tell my daughter never to wear her headphones when driving because it’s distracting while driving.

  18. Do not answer your phone as no phone call is more important than getting to the place you are driving to safe and alive.

  19. Making sure they don’t use their cell phone and getting one of those devices that tracks there driving… thank goodness my girls won’t drive for more than 10 years

  20. Let someone else drive…..lol No! my one tip that I always tell my teens when driving is do not text or talk on their phones. thank you
