The Lost Boys Muddy Buddies Snack Recipe

Our love of Disney’s A Twisted Tale series continues with the latest release – Straight On Till Morning. My daughter owns all the books in this Disney Book Group series that features your favorite fairytales with a twist. Book 8 in the series is based on Peter Pan, and asks the question: what if Wendy first traveled to Never Land… with Captain Hook? To celebrate the release, I whipped up a Lost Boys Muddy Buddies Snack to enjoy as we read.
Gabby usually counts down the days until the next book in any series she is reading releases. As soon as she gets her hands on a book she reads for hours. It is rare to find her without a book in her hand. That’s why I wanted to make a fun reading snack inspired by our favorite characters in this installment. Peter Pan and the Lost Boys were fun to watch and I know they will be even more interesting to read about in Straight On Till Morning.
Lost Boys Muddy Buddies Recipe
The Muddy Buddies recipe is a classic just like Peter Pan. While A Twisted Tale: Straight On Till Morning has a twist, I added my own spin to the Muddy Buddies snack to make it inspired by the Lost Boys. I mixed some brown sugar with the powdered sugar coating to resemble more of the brown forest and added some blue sprinkles.

Ingredients
Instructions
The messiest part is melting the chocolate and peanut butter mixture to pour over your Chex cereal. The trick is using butter and heating in small intervals to prevent the chocolate from burning in the microwave.
Once your Muddy Buddies have been coated with your sugar mixture and blue sprinkles, you want to lay it out to cool on wax paper or foil.
The Muddy Buddies snack cools rather quickly and is ready to serve for reading time.

Straight On Till Morning
What if Wendy first traveled to Neverland . . . with Captain Hook?
Sixteen-year-old Wendy Darling’s life is not what she imagined it would be. The doldrums of an empty house after her brothers have gone to school, the dull parties where everyone thinks she talks too much, and the fact that her parents have decided to send her away to Ireland as a governess—it all makes her wish things could be different.
Wendy’s only real escape is in writing down tales of Never Land. After nearly meeting her hero, Peter Pan, four years earlier, she still holds on to the childhood hope that his magical home truly exists. She also holds on to his shadow.
So when an opportunity to travel to Never Land via pirate ship presents itself, Wendy makes a deal with the devil. But Never Land isn’t quite the place she imagined it would be. Unexpected dangers and strange foes pop up at every turn, and a little pixie named Tinker Bell seems less than willing to help.
But when Captain Hook reveals some rather permanent and evil plans for Never Land, it’s up to the two of them to save Peter Pan—and his world.
There are now eight books in the series with the ninth releasing in April – perfect timing for Gabby’s birthday!

About the Author
Liz Braswell spent her childhood reading fairy tales, dreaming, and going on adventures in the woods with her cat. After majoring in Egyptology at Brown University (and yes, she can write your name in hieroglyphs) she promptly spent the next ten years producing video games. Finally Liz caved in to fate and wrote Snow and Rx under the name Tracy Lynn, followed by the Nine Lives of Chloe King series under her real name, because by then the assassins hunting her were all dead. She is also the author of Stuffed and several other Twisted Tales, including A Whole New World, Once Upon a Dream, As Old as Time, and Part of Your World. She lives in Brooklyn with a husband, two children, a cat, a part¬time dog, three fish, and five coffee trees—one of which has already produced a rather tolerable espresso.
