Fort Worth Zoo Playdate – Homeschool Day
On March 3rd my good friend Erica came into town with her son, Gabe to join Noah and I at the Fort Worth Zoo for Homeschool Day. We had a great playdate for the boys. They enjoyed walking around looking at all the animals and thanks to the Homeschool Day they were even able to see and touch some of the exhibits up close.
The Fort Worth Zoo offered us a handout with a schedule of various learning sessions they offered for the kids throughout the zoo. Unfortunately we didn’t have enough time to attend them all but we were able to stop by a few stations that displayed items the kids could pick up and explore, such as elephant tusk, hair and scales from a snake. Of course the boys thought that was pretty neat. I highly recommend taking full advantage of the Homeschool Day if you homeschool your children or if you have a preschooler at home. I suggest arriving early, packing your own lunch and trying to soak up all the learning experiences offered through the zoo. Plus the zoo offers a discounted rate on this day.
I believe the aquarium was one of their favorite areas in the zoo. They loved seeing the fish, sharks and of course going inside to see all the reptiles.
And of course my favorite was the Lion and Tiger exhibit.
Erica and I are already looking forward to taking the boys back to visit the Fort Worth Zoo during the month of April to see their new dinosaur exhibit. I know the boys will be thrilled. They both love learning about dinosaurs and play with toy dinosaurs often.
What fun pics! My boys loved going to the zoo when they were younger~AND we ALL still love going to the zoo……Looks like a good time!
They were just too cute in the reptile exhibits, racing around to ‘find’ all the critters in their homes. I can’t wait to do it again!
That is amazing! Looks like they had a blast!!!
How fun! I’m looking forward to visiting our zoo before the real hot weather gets here.
