6 Amazing sensory gifts for kids at Christmas
Unfortunately, when buying gifts for children with disabilities, they usually come with a high price tag. We have looked far and wide, though, and have found six awesome sensory gifts with a reasonable price tag, making them the perfect Christmas gift.
We believe all kids should be able to enjoy Christmas too the fullest, and we aren’t the only ones who share that sentiment. Disney has recently come under fire for not offering a single Braille gift card in its stores. This is not good enough in today’s times. People around the country are hiring reputable disability lawyers to take down injustice, and we think that is just awesome!
So without further ado, here are our suggestions for some awesome, affordable sensory gifts for your loved ones this Christmas.
Dream Tents
These amazing little tents attach to most sizes of beds and come with different designs. They create a private little world for your little ones to play in and enjoy. They come in a range of designs from a dinosaur island to a fairy forest. These are a great alternative to expensive sensory tents that specialists will advise you to buy, often with 10x the price tag of one of these, and without the dinosaurs!
SoundMoovz
This awesome little wearable device allows you to pair any song or sound you like with it, it then plays that song/sound when you move. Your kids can wear them on the wrist or ankle and are linked by tablet or phone via Bluetooth. Give your child hours of fun by creating custom sounds they will be able to activate by wiggling about!
Amazon Alexa
A great gift for slightly older kids, you do not need to have any motor skills to have fun with Alexa. Your loved ones can ask Alexa to tell them jokes or pay their favorite music. You can also link the device to other Bluetooth connected devices in the house. This is a great way to give them some control, and they can ask Alexa to turn the lights on or off when they are sleepy, or even the television.
Fibre Optic Sensory Lights
Sensory lighting can be absolutely extortionate; another example of how parents with sensory kids get ripped off. Battery-powered fiber optic lights are really cheap. However, they have a lovely tactile feel and give off a lovely glow. They make a great nightlight and do not cost a fortune in electricity bills, thanks to the batteries.
Hungry Doggy Piggy Bank
By far, our favorite suggestion on the list, this little battery-powered piggy bank is shaped like a dog. When you place a coin in the dogs’ bowl, the dog bends over and eats the coin, depositing it in the box below. Devilishly simple, yet extraordinarily entertaining, for everyone!
Hopefully, we have given you some inspiration for some great Christmas gifts this year. It’s our favorite time of the year, and we bet it is yours too. Have a great Christmas everyone!
