YesVideo Launched an iPhone App

YesVideo recently launched an for their customers to be able to view their home movies on the go.  After preserving your family videos and storing them for free in the cloud through YesVideo’s service, having the iPhone app is the perfect next step.

Having easy access to my home movies right at my finger tips reminds me how important it is to preserve our special moments before they fade away.  Being able to take a few quick minutes to watch a short video clip while I’m sitting outside waiting to pick up the kids from school or sitting in the doctor’s office waiting room gives me the chance to relive those memories instead of them sitting on a shelf collecting dust.

Using the is simple. After downloading their free app, I simply opened it and logged in using my Facebook account which is also linked to my YesVideo online sharing account. There is also an option for creating an account if you haven’t yet setup your online viewing. If your YesVideo account is not hooked to a Facebook profile then you simply use your email address.

Once I was logged in I could see all my videos that have been transferred through YesVideo.  I love how each home movie was featured with a thumbnail image so I could see what was on the video.  I was given the option of playing the full video or playing specific clips within the full length movie.  The title of the video was displayed on the main page so I could easily sort through them when looking for an old memory.

What I love most about this new technology is the fact I was able to play old family movies for my grandma while she was in hospice.  She was able to hear her parents talking and my grandfather.  Those were memories that had been stuck on a VHS tape for years, not being able to be watched because we no longer own a VCR.  Being able to share those old special moments with our family members while on the go is priceless.  It is literally something that would have never happened if it wasn’t for this app.

I have since shared our online videos with my extended family members for them to be able to watch an old family get together that they have never seen and would have never seen if we didn’t have this online sharing option.
