We are big MARVEL fans here in our home.  Each of us has our own favorite.  My oldest loves Thor, my middle child likes Iron Man and my youngest’s favorite is Hulk and Captain America.  When we saw the MARVEL Chewy Granola Bars, my children had to have them.  Not only are the granola bars wrapped individually in different packages featuring one of the six super heroes on them but the box also comes with a trading card!

These make the perfect addition to their Super Hero themed bento lunch.

How to Make a Super Hero Bento Style Lunch

While shopping at Walmart for the MARVEL Chewy Granola Bars my child selected the peanut butter chocolate chip variety pack.  They make the best after school snack or quick snack-on-the-go when we are headed out the door to soccer games or doctor appointments.  However, with the new school year I’m always trying to find creative ways to pack their lunches.

I had so much fun creating this Super Hero bento lunch.  You can add a Super Hero message to your child’s lunch by downloading the free printable found below.

Items in Super Hero Bento Lunch

  • Captain America Sandwich – used star cookie cutter to remove a piece of the bread.  Placed cheese on top of the lunch meat.
  • Avenger Food Picks – used Avenger stickers with card stock and glued a colored tooth pick between them.
  • MARVEL Avengers Chewy Granola Bars – peanut butter and chocolate chip flavor.
  • Thor Hammer – cut a cheese stick in four pieces and attached to the end of pretzels.

The best part of the MARVEL Chewy Granola Bars is that on the back of each box comes a collector card.  There are a total of four you can collect.  Our box came with Captain America which was perfect for my son.

Avenger Collector Cards

I cut out the card from the box without him knowing and wrote a message on the back.  This gave me the opportunity to turn the collector card into a lunchbox note!  He still has it in his backpack today.

Have a Super Day lunchbox note

I used this Super Hero themed quote as a lunchbox note.  Once printed, cut around the edges and glue to card stock or felt in a color besides red.  I cut the image out and glued to yellow felt, then cut around it leaving just enough extra for a border and then repeated the process on blue felt.  This gave the note a 3D effect.

You can stick the note on the inside of your child’s lunchbox or if they carry a sack with their lunch in it this would be an easy way to decorated the outside of the bag.

Do you make bento style lunches for your child?  Which MARVEL Chewy Granola Bars would they enjoy most, peanut butter or chocolate chip?
