Last week I was given the chance to review the new soundtrack just released for Sex and the City 2. Unfortunately I haven’t had the chance to see the movie yet but hope to this coming weekend. I own the first Sex and the City movie and have been very excited to see this one.
After putting the CD into my MacBook to listen while I worked, I was even more excited for the movie. The CD starts right off with 12-time Grammy Award winner Alicia Keys performing her own extraordinary new version of the Blondie classic “Rapture”. I own another one of the International Superstar Dido’s CDs so seeing her name on the album was exciting to me.
The whole lineup for this album is amazing.
- A brand-new duet “Love is Your Color” by Grammy and Academy Award® winner Jennifer Hudson, along with global superstar, multi-platinum recording artist and three-time Grammy Award nominee Leona Lewis.
- A new song by platinum-selling CeeLo
- Grammy, Emmy, Golden Globe, Tony and Academy Award® winner Liza Minnelli covers Beyonce’s chart-topper “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)”
The soundtrack also features the stars of Sex and the City 2, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon, performing the Helen Reddy classic “I Am Woman.”
This was one soundtrack that truly made me think of the movie during the whole CD. I was dancing in my seat and picturing the previews that I’ve already seen for the movie, Sex and the City 2. The songs were uplifting and made my anticipation to see Sex and the City 2 grow even stronger. This is the perfect album for a girls night out and one I will be listening to on my way to see the movie this weekend and on the way home for sure!
