Scripture To Help Deal With Fear

Have you ever tried to deal with fear on your own? It can be extremely hard, which is why I try to rely on God when it comes to conquering fear. He has many promises for us when we decide to trust in Him. I wanted to share some of the best scriptures with you from God’s word.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. ~ Psalms 23:4

Isn’t it lovely that we have a God to turn to when things aren’t going the best? We don’t have to fear evil because God is there to comfort us every step of the way. The next time you feel fear, feel free to keep this scripture next to your heart.

For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you. ~ Isaiah 41:13

Did you know that God is there to comfort you in your time of need? Everyone feels fear at some point, but God can help pull you through. God is the one who is there for you, even when you don’t think he’s there.

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. ~ Deuteronomy 31:6

Even if you don’t feel as though you can be strong and courageous, it’s possible when you trust God with everything you have. We have the ability to be strong and courageous because of him.

For God gave us not a spirit of fearfulness; but of power and love and discipline. ~ 2 Timothy 1:7

Can you imagine living your life in fear forever? Thanks to the power of God we don’t have to do that anymore! He didn’t give us a spirit full of fear, he gave us so much more. If you’re having trouble with this in your life, then do not be afraid to pray to Him and ask for His help.

But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God.” ~ Luke 1:30

There are many times in the bible where Jesus says do not be afraid. An angel appeared to Mary and told her to not be afraid. If He’s in your heart, then you have the power to ask Him to be with you. Praying is special time to ask God to take away our fear and to ask Him to wrap His loving arms around us.

I hope these verses help you the next time you feel fear in your heart or mind. Don’t forget that the God who created the universe can also help you to conquer your fears.
