Back to School Reading Basket with Free Books

With school starting up this coming week the kids and I put together a basket to encourage reading.  Often kids take their new teacher a small gift on the first day but we wanted to deliver a basket of goodies that the entire class could enjoy.

Thanks to Kellogg’s offer for Scholastic books at Sam’s Club, you can donate to a local school in need for free.

We gathered some of our favorite children’s books that we knew the class would enjoy reading.  Some of the books are beginner level that the kids can read during quiet time and some of the books are perfect for story time when the teacher reads to the class.

To top off the reading basket we tossed in some kid-approved snacks.

Everyone needs a break during a hard working day.  Kids and teachers included!  This basket is sure to kick off some quiet reading time while the little ones are snacking.

My kids always request new books throughout the school year so they have different stories to practice their evening reading.  With this special offer I not only can stock up on our snacks for back to school and my son’s soccer games but I can also stock up on some free children’s books in the process.

How to Redeem Your Code for Free Book

Visit FreeBookOffer.com/Sams to claim your book of choice or to donate

Once you have signed up with your email and address (for shipping of your book) you are then prompted to put in your 16 digit code from the inside of your snack box.  I opened our boxes and dumped out the snacks in order to find the code printed on the inside, then I put the snacks back in.

You can enter one code and then redeem or continue entering all of your codes if you have more than one eligible snack box.

Once you have finished entering your code and it was accepted, you can then click to visit the redeem page.

This is where you can decide if you would like to select a book for your child or if you would like to donate the second book.  Your first book from each snack box is automatically donated by Kellogg’s for you.  No hassle on your end!  You have the satisfaction of knowing you helped donate a book by purchasing your eligible Kellogg’s product from Sam’s Club.

When you select order now to pick out your child’s book you are given options for four categories to browse in.

• Beginning Readers
• Middle Readers
• Tween/Teen
• Spanish/Bilingual

I instantly found some of our family favorites on the list.  They offer over 80 titles to choose from!  You have the option of redeeming your code towards an e-book if you wish as well.  My kids love reading on their iPads so this option was appealing to us.

I thought the Hot Rod Hamster book looked cute for my son and since it was a level 2 reader I think it’ll be perfect for him to kick off the new school year.

You can add more than one book in your shopping cart if you inputted more than one digital code from your boxes of snacks.

Once you are done selecting books, click visit shopping cart on the top right.

You must click the box to authorize the point total in your shopping cart once you confirm the number of books you are redeeming with your free codes.  Continue to checkout after your order is complete.

You will also confirm your shipping address and other personal information on the next page.  Make sure you click confirm and continue until you see the final thank you page.

Tada! It is that easy to now have your child’s new book on the way.  They say allow up to 8 weeks for delivery.  These will make perfect Christmas gifts.
