The Queen of Cool – Romance & Mystery

| |

I’m a sucker for a tragic love story then add in a little mystery and you have me sold.  I also love reading in my spare time, especially when it’s a good story that brings you in.

The Queen of Cool is just that.  I’ve only read the first nine chapters so far, because those are the only chapters published to date.  Otherwise I would have finished the book by now since I’m itching to read chapter ten.  Another interesting thing about the story is it’s based in Fort Worth, TX.  When I first started reading chapter one and street names were mentioned I could picture the location.  This made the fiction seem more realistic.

Synposis: Returning from her husband’s funeral, Lorraine ‘Lo’ Downs discovers her home has been foreclosed. The Queen of Cool follows Lo as she works to put her life together and tries to find out what happened to her and her husband.

The Queen of Cool is serial fiction written by Claudia Hall Christian.  Two chapters are published each month, currently with chapter nine live. The Queen of Cool is a membership site where you can download the chapters electronically to read on your computer or if you’re like me you may want to use your Kindle or iBook app on your iPhone or iPad.  Membership is only $12 a year, less than the cost of an average fiction novel.

She is Dallas also publishes The Queen of Cool within blog posts six days a week, Monday through Saturday.  When a chapter is released on The Queen of Cool membership site She is Dallas then starts publishing snippets from that chapter in the form of a blog post.  The blog posts are roughly 200 words each, making one chapter span over approximately two weeks.  It works great to read in the mornings with your coffee before starting the day or indulge the story at night while laying in bed.  Perfect opportunity to take some ‘me time‘ and do a little reading enjoyment even if you have a busy schedule.  Anyone can carve out time for 200 words a day.

Want to subscribe to the She is Dallas RSS feed for The Queen of Cool story?  Simple.  You can subscribe to receive the feed directly in your email inbox daily to read so you don’t forget and miss a day.

I am truly enjoying reading this story and can’t wait to see how it unfolds.  I love downloading the electronic version of the chapters and reading at my own pace.  I’m happy to say that I have a membership to The Queen of Cool to giveaway for one lucky reader.  This membership will get you free access to The Queen of Cool chapters that are already published as well as the upcoming chapters in full.  Queen of Cool members also get discounts in the online store and special editions of the serial.

  1. What a fantastic idea! I would want to read from my kindle. I like reading books like the Hunger Games…anything Dean Koontz and then TRUE stories like a child called it, self help, motivational. Um, I pretty much will read anything it seems!

  2. I love the serial. I like reading romance/mystery. That is how I got hooked on Claudia’s great serials. I actually started with “Denver Serial”, realized that I could buy the book and went off the deep end trying and finding all of her books.. I do all my reading on my nook. Keep up the great work Claudia
