When away in a large city, you may be even more concerned about the safety of your children, especially if there is a chance that they could get lost amongst crowds. Making up ID tags for your children, and then having these on their shoes, bags, clothing, or even as a bracelet, could give you some peace of mind. Depending on their ages, you may be able to teach your children your cellphone number, as well as the hotel you are staying at, which they could relay to police officers or shop assistants if they do get lost. This may help you to be reunited much sooner.

Many families give themselves a set amount of spending money to use throughout their break. However, without proper planning, you may find yourselves running short towards the back end of your stay. To prevent this from occurring, it could be a good idea to set yourselves daily budgets, rather than a singular one that needs to last. Likewise, you could get your children to do the same with any allowance or spending money they have, which can be a good way to give them some fun and teach them about financial responsibility. If you plan on storing your daily budgets separately from each other, you might also need to think about ways to keep this money safe while you are out of your hotel room.
