Our family is filled with Fast & Furious fans. It is a tradition to see each movie in the theater and we own all the current releases on DVD. While counting down the days for F8 to release on DVD July 11th we spent a little time making our own Fast & Furious short films with the Fast & Furious™ Deluxe Scene Playset.
My 10-year-old son was able to put together the playset by himself. Each piece snapped together fairly easy. The Fast & Furious Filmmaker app is an added bonus that is available for free in the App Store, the playset even came with a stand to hold your smartphone in place while recording.
Inspired by the movie’s real cars and real characters, the Fast & Furious™ Deluxe Scene Playset lets your kids recreate the scene from the movie they love. The toy playset is interactive while you race Dom Toretto’s car to save his team.
The launch pad sends your car flying through the air and across two obstacles.
Over the course of eight films that have successively stoked passion in an ever-expanding audience, Fast & Furious is a global box-office blockbuster that continues to entertain audiences of all ages.
The Fate of the Furious is the newest chapter in this popular and enduring motion-picture serials of all time.
We were so impressed with how realistic the car in the playset is. Dom’s car is a family favorite and one my son says he will own one day.
Once you download the free Fast & Furious Filmmaker app, there are simple on-screen instructions to follow. You can setup your mobile device to start filming your play.
Once you have your scene recorded you can start the editing process. There are some fun options for the kids to play with and become filmmakers.
The special effects are pretty cool. My son was able to move around an explosion on the screen to show the car blow up when it crossed the path. There are options for smoke, fire, and so much more. The touchscreen capabilities within the app makes it easy for kids to use and edit with a few simple touches.
The live action Fast & Furious™ Basic Stunt Car was another fun toy to play with.
While playing my son helped me come up award ideas. I created these printable race ribbons to make our playtime even more fun. He suggested Team Player since the Fast & Furious crew are proud to be a team and call themselves a family. The Best Graphic ribbon was suggested for the person that made the best short film using the app’s graphics.
