Locks of Love ~ MomFaves

Gabby has wanted to have her hair cut for quite some time. While she was in the hospital right after brain surgery we had a hair stylist come in and take about four to five inches off. Her hair has always grown so fast and always looked beautiful long. She was my little Goldilocks! After her sister donated 10″ of her hair last summer to Locks of Love, Gabby really wanted to cut hers. I was so hesitant yet not sure why. Guess I was attached to her long locks, it was just part of her.  As her hair has tried growing back around her scar it has stayed pretty thin.  Her head was always sensitive and usually her hair was kept in a pony tail.  So when she came to me and asked if she could please have her hair cut like sissy’s, I said yes.  I am so proud of my girls for donating their hair.  Gabby is very proud of herself too.  She was excited to give her hair to kids who don’t have any.

Look at that hair!

My sister told me about how Ulta offers free hair cuts and styles if you donate your hair. Since we already planned to donate at least 10″ this was perfect for us. Not only was the hair cut free but Ulta took the responsibility of shipping in the hair for us.  I was so proud of this service Ulta offered and the wonderful cause they were supporting, Locks of Love.  What better day and better place to wear my MomFaves shirt?  I wanted to show the support of one of my favorites.  I have faved Ulta and nominated Locks of Love on MomFaves.  Please take a moment to vote for them too!

  2. Ah, your girls are so sweet! And, I’m so glad you chose Locks of Love. I did a little research on hair donation last year and discovered the one most often talked about sells or throws away a huge percentage of their donations. Locks of Love is a stand-up group.

I plan on finally getting to Texas, hopefully this month, and hope we can meet up! I’d love to give the girls a hug. In the meantime, please send me your addy and I’ll send them some American Girl Doll puzzles.

You’re so lucky to have two sweet girls! Oh, and tell Gabby her new haircut looks amazing!
