In promotion for the upcoming release of The Host film to theaters on March 29th, Stephenie Meyer, Max Irons, Jake Abel and Chandler Canterbury appeared in Dallas for The Host book signing and press junket.

I was given the opportunity to join other press outlets to interview Max Irons, Jake Abel and Chandler Canterbury.  It was great to meet the male stars of The Host in person.  Right away you could tell they enjoy working together and the atmosphere was laid back.  I was able to capture a video of the interview that you can see below.

I captured the full interview on audio only if you would rather listen instead of watch the video.  Audio interview of Max Irons, Jake Abel and Chandler Canterbury.

Following the interview Stephenie Meyer, Max Irons, Jake Abel and Chandler Canterbury headed over to Barnes & Noble to meet their fans.  Those of us with press followed to join the fun.

Fans lined up at Barnes & Noble to meet the cast and have their copy of The Host signed. Each fan was allowed to have one more book or movie companion signed which of course meant all the Twilight Saga fans had Stephenie Meyer sign their personal copy of Twilight.

The fans traveled from Stephenie Meyer’s table to a table where the three male actors were signing autographs of The Host and movie posters. All of them were very energetic and happy to meet their fans. They were kind, posed for photos and all had smiles on their faces. I would say the event was a success.

  1. So awesome. I am not familiar with these people but have seen the previews for the movie. I probably would prefer to read the book first.

    1. Brandy: have your kids see Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief? Jake Abel plays Luke in that movie, that’s how T and Gabby know him.

  2. I don’t know much about Stephanie Meyer other than she wrote Twilight, which I haven’t read or watched. Did she write The Host as a book before it was made into a movie or was it written as a screenplay?

    1. Jessica, Stephenie actually wrote the novel The Host back in 2008. She has even written out at least one sequel but it hasn’t been published yet. So there is a good chance there will be a second movie. From what I hear….
