How to Decorate Campfire Cupcakes

Fall is one of my favorite seasons. Here in Texas, we plan all of our camping trips in the fall since the summer is so hot. What better treat to serve during your weekend camping trip than these campfire cupcakes! We also host a lot of outdoor movie nights, using our backyard projection screen, with a small campfire to make s’mores. These campfire cupcakes are a hit during our outdoor movie parties. They are great to serve at a camping themed party.

How to Decorate Campfire Cupcakes

You can use a homemade cupcake recipe or prepare a packaged cake mix. To decorate campfire cupcakes you will need two different food coloring for the fire, pretzels sticks, and mini marshmallows. I recommend making chocolate cupcakes so it looks like dirt.

The trick to making your cupcake frosting look like real fire, is by adding two different piping bags, one with yellow frosting and one with orange frosting, together into a third piping bag to frost your cupcake at the same time. This will layer the orange and yellow frosting without blending together.

Add pretzel sticks as logs to your fire frosting.
