My kids love JumpStart. Gabby has been a fan of their CD-ROMs for years and started playing their online games over a year ago. Noah has just started joining in on the fun for the past month. The whole month of October we played all the Halloween themed games and went on the fun scavenger hunts. I love playing with him and watching him learn so much. I’m impressed at how good he has become at working the mouse and keyboard on his own and fully understanding how to play. Also allowing the kids to play educational games doesn’t make me feel quite as guilty as allowing them to play other electronics.
Noah had so much fun growing a Dragon. The first day he went around collecting all the hearts to be able to receive an egg. He was able to paint the egg and play music for it in order to keep it happy so it would hatch. The next morning the first thing he asked was if he could see if his egg hatched yet. He was so excited to see his baby dragon. Once it hatched he was able to name it which was very fun for him! Gabby is in the process of growing a Horn Howlie which is their newest Mythical Creator.
Like Noah’s screen name? Hunter FungusWolf…

HI, my 8-year-old loves JumpStart. I found out about it at BlogHer ’09 and he tried it out, but didn’t fall in love with it till about 6 months later. I’d definitely use the membership for him!
His favorite game? Hard to tell, I know he likes the scavenger hunts. His favorite thing to do is raise dragons, Pegasuses (Pegasi?) and now he can hardly wait for his latest Pegasus to be released so he can get a Horn Howlie.
*My* favorite game is Punk Punk drop … 😉
It would be for my nephew
be a gift to one of the many nephews I have–my sons used some of the older programs growing up!! thanks for the awesome contest!

This is the first time I’ve heard of jumpstart. Looks like something my son would love to play. He’s 4 and really into online games at the moment!
I would give the membership to my children, they have never played Jump Start before.
