The new movie Gotta Catch Santa Claus featuring William Shatner as voice of Santa Claus came out this week. Fall is my favorite season for many reasons but mostly because the holidays begin. We have already been planning our very first Halloween party and Christmas is mere thoughts away. Matter of fact if you are a subscriber to my Behind The Scenes newsletter then you know I’ve already got some Christmas presents stocked up in my closet.
I have a very large family with 9 nieces and nephews that I don’t always see regularly. The holidays and birthdays are the main occasions we get together. So my family starts getting into the spirit early. When we received the movie Gotta Catch Santa Claus this week, we watched it twice back to back before bedtime. Then as soon as Noah woke up the next morning he wanted to watch Santa Claus again.
As soon as the movie started we could sing along with some of the songs. I especially liked the plot of the girl in the story being in doubt of Santa being real instead of the usual scenario of it being the boy not believing. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m no Santa movie expert but I just can’t recall the last time I saw a movie where the little boy was trying to convince the little girl. The graphics in the movie were great too. It had a very modern day feel. The little girl even had a very cute trendy hair cut. I think Noah’s favorite part was the supersonic sleigh and of course the snowball fight between LeFreeze and the children, over Santa Claus.
This 66 minute animated movie with six all new sing along songs was sure a hit in my home. Our family is already getting in the Christmas spirit and I’m sure I’ll be able to recite the words to this movie before long.
Full Disclosure: My family was given a copy of Gotta Catch Santa Claus for review. We truly enjoyed the movie and recommend it as some fresh holiday entertainment for children of all ages.
