Has your family done any rock painting? I remember painting rocks when I was a kid and my oldest brought home her decorated rocks from summer camp years past. Lately, rock painting has hit a craze and there are countless design inspirations you can find on Pinterest.
When thinking of crafts for Disney Pixar The Good Dinosaur, rock painting quickly came to mind.
Did you know the Pizza Planet truck makes a cameo appearance in The Good Dinosaur and is made out of rock? Pixar Studios likes to sneak that truck into their movies and make it blend into the scene of the film. Dinosaur-era = rocks!

I used a sponge technique to decorate the rock like a dinosaur egg. I mixed two shades of green and yellow to sponge on and added small blue dots with a tiny paintbrush.
The white egg that is cracked with a dino eye peeking through, I used paintbrushes for the entire thing except for the small cracks. I used a permanent pen to make those fine lines after my white paint dried.
