Friendship and Support Is Vital

As most of you know, Brandy Ellen is a very close friend of mine.  We met through the virtual world and became as close as sisters would be living afar.  She shares a guest post with all of my readers on support and how it’s vital.  Brandy recently launched a free bloggers support group that I’ve joined to help support other bloggers.  I’m very excited to share this post with you.

Think about life in general, never-mind the virtual blogging environment, you need support and friendship to make it through your day, correct? I believe the answer to that will be yes. You see I am Brandy Ellen from HappilyBlended.com and one of the greatest aspects of life is that I have an amazing support group both in real life and virtually. Thankfully my friends have stood by my side through the ups and downs of blogging, working from home and raising three children. Without friendship I highly doubt my amazingly positive attitude would have made it through the challenges I have faced alone.

One day I was sitting at home watching my kids running all around and helping each other up and down their pirate ship outside when I realized something, wouldn’t it be nice if we all had a shove up in life and blogging? Wouldn’t it be great if I could help boost someone else up in their blogging career and help them succeed the way I have in just a short year and a half? Of course it would, one thing I thrive for in life is to make others happy. When I make others happy it makes me happy, happiness is something that we should all share with others no matter where they stand in life. Be it poverty level or rich successful millionaires, we all need a boost sometimes and that is why I started a new free, online virtual support group for bloggers! At first I wanted to attach a small monthly fee to this group.  Why?, well because after all I am a work at home, blogger, mother of three who has a lot on her plate already and my time is worth money. Then I thought back to all the times I had free help, to all those “big wig” bloggers who gave me a hand up when I was having a hard time with something.

I am thankful for those who helped me succeed in blogging without asking for a penny in return, because it is them who inspired me to lend a hand to other bloggers who may need a little boost in their blogging environment. About a week ago I announced my FREE blogging support group and in turn I received a really great response to it. Right now I am working on setting up multiple Skype groups so that we can all help promote blog posts, cross promote each other and just simply answer those questions that may come up during the day when you are blogging. Let’s say you are having writers block one day, not sure what to write … well that is where this blogging support group can come in handy. Simply post a message on Skype to your assigned group and voila we will all help lend you some topic ideas to get your typing fingers moving!

Helping others is something I am very passionate about and I feel every little bit I can do to help others will make this virtual environment of blogging so much more positive. A person once told me that “life is not happily blended” but I have to politely disagree because “life is what you make it”. I have chosen to make life more happy, positive and have become determined to succeed while bringing others up in success with me.

How important is helping others to you? What do you do for volunteer work, virtual support or other to help people that are in your life? I would love to hear your story on why you choose to help others.

  1. What an absolutely FABULOUS idea. You are so right- without support blogging is a pretty lonely occupation. There are some bloggers who use their blogs as journals and I guess dont care if anyone reads their posts, but most of us- at least me- care a lot! It helps so much to know you are not just talking to the void! That someone is listening- and that a post makes a difference to someone else.

Just followed you on twitter and facebook- and m off to check out your blog and blog support group! I am not familiar with skype- but I definitely want to get involved- so I’ll learn:)

By the way….nice to meet you..lol:)

  2. It is always so refreshing to see people willingly and cheerfully help others. Makes me smile:)

It is amazing how a little attention and helpfulness can truly make a person feel so good. It makes the one doing the helping feel good too.

    I really like your attitude!

    1. Thank you for the kind words! Now if everyone can hop on board and give to others whenever they can … just a little giving can go a long way, even if it’s just time!

  3. Im lacking a lot of support lately. My closest friends live far away and aren’t moms. My in laws are starting to dislike me for cultural reasons(they’re traditional SE-asian) and I’m unwilling to waiver on my beliefs to suit them. It’s been a hard long road.

    1. I am very sorry! Well I am always happy to be friends with new bloggers. I tell you local friends I have little of but online I have enjoyed meeting many friendly people! ((HUGS))
