We have a large family which means many different likes and dislikes.  Some love cheese, some don’t.  Some love black olives, some don’t.  The best way to make sure everyone is satisfied when it comes to eating nachos is to setup a buffet style bar for each person to make their own.

For our Festive Taco Nachos Bar I used this Pace recipe for inspiration.  Each of us added our own little spin on the recipe by changing out a few of the ingredients to please our own taste buds.

When preparing dinner for a family of seven, it is easier to lay out all the ingredients to the nachos in separate bowls so each person can walk the buffet line.

As a copy-cat to the Festive Taco Nachos recipe linked above we gathered ingredients to include:

  • Ground Beef – cooked with taco seasoning
  • Round Tortilla Chips
  • Homemade Guacamole
  • Black Olives
  • Shredded Cheese
  • Lettuce – shredded
  • Pace Salsa
  • White Queso – addition not included in original recipe

*Tip: We prefer to shred our own lettuce rather than to purchase the taco pre-shredded lettuce in a bag. We like darker greens.

During the Tom Thumb Stock Up Sale I was able to score two jars of Pace Salsa for only $4.  We use Pace on many meals besides nachos.  Our breakfast tacos, for snack time dipping and to add some thick spice to some of our slow-cooker meals, Pace is our go-to salsa of choice so it is no surprise to see this salsa on our Festive Taco Nachos Bar.

I love all the ingredients shown above so my plate was filled like a nacho supreme.  To make the best Festive Taco Nachos I layered each item in this specific order:

  1. Round tortilla chips on the plate
  2. White queso poured over the chips
  3. Ground beef added on top of the queso
  4. Lettuce layered on top of the taco meat
  5. Black olives toss all over
  6. Shredded cheese sprinkled on top
  7. Pace salad spooned onto the nachos
  8. Dab of guacamole to finish it off
