February Photo-A-Day Challenge on Instagram

YesVideo has launched their February photo-a-day challenge on Instagram. Instagram has become such a fun mobile app to share photos with your friends and family spontaneously. I have my Instagram account linked to my Facebook wall, my Twitter stream and even my Tumblr page where I like to collect some of my favorite memories through photographs in one place.

I love how YesVideo is encouraging people to get in the habit of capturing those daily special moments. As a mom I already snap pictures of my kids every where we go and I try to catch the funny or cute moments on video or in photos. With the daily prompts that YesVideo gives in their challenge it helps me really think outside the box and see shots that I might have normally overlooked. It is a lot of fun!

My daughter has even started to play along and she has begun to discuss some of the daily prompts with me. She is excited about tomorrow’s prompt and the fact we are at Disneyland this weekend. She is planning to see if she can capture Mickey Mouse’s shadow. She never would have thought to take that photo if it wasn’t for this fun challenge.

Don’t forget while you are capturing those daily photos, make sure you sneak in some videos too. Sometimes the funny and special moments can only be truly appreciated by reliving them through video. A photo is only a still moment in time but home movies allow you to cherish so much more.
