Fall Into Fitness with Nintendo – Ring Fit Adventure
Thanks to Nintendo for sending us a copy of Ring Fit Adventure for review purposes. All opinions are 100% my own.
How are you staying active during the current pandemic? In many states it gets pretty cool in the fall and winter, making outdoor exercise limited. This summer our family stayed active by swimming a lot in our pool during the stay-at-home orders to avoid being exposed to COVID, however now it is too cold to take a quick swim so we are getting more creative with our ways to exercise. Our entire family loves playing games and games that make you get up and be active are always mom-approved by me! That’s the main reason I love Ring Fit Adventure – the interactive game for Nintendo Switch.
Nintendo Switch Ring Fit Adventure
Not only is Ring Fit Adventure an exercise game that keeps everyone moving, it has an adventure story mode with challenges and battles to beat. Each family member has their own profile so we can challenge one another. Even with Gabby’s limited abilities from Cerebral Palsy, she is able to do it! I love story mode in games. I like the feeling of accomplishment when I pass a level. It keeps me motivated to continue playing which also encourages daily exercise.
I find myself reminding the kids to not spend too much time on screens and playing video games. With Ring Fit Adventure, I feel comfortable letting them play. I made it a rule in the house that for every day they want to play video games that require a lot of sitting, they must also play one of the active games that encourages movement and exercise. It’s all about finding that right balance.
Make Exercise Fun
I can get competitive and always like to play the mini games more than once to try and do better. Some of them can be challenging and you really feel the stretch. I even wake up sore the next morning!
You will be guided through tutorials for each different exercise and taught how to play each step of the game. You can select a generic workout, a mini game or go on the adventure through the story mode. The mini games are fun and you can switch out players instantly between games to challenge one another.
This game is at the top of my Nintendo Switch recommendations.
