Summer Date Night Ideas for Couples
Campout for Two
Gather up that tent and head out to the backyard or go to a local campground. Camping out under the stars together, yes – even in your own backyard, can be rather romantic. Enjoy stargazing together laying on a fleece blanket on a summer night. Bonus points if you have a hammock! My husband and I even enjoy taking our dogs camping with us. Our human kids got all the attention during the first two months of summer, now it’s time for our furry kids to get a little adventure love.
Attend a Sporting Event
If your partner’s favorite team is playing somewhere close by this summer, surprise them with tickets to a sporting event. This is a favorite summer date idea for couples as they cheer on the local sports team and enjoy the downtime without kids.
Road Trip Date
Gather up your camera, GPS, and whatever snacks you enjoy while the two of you hop in the car and take a road trip for a day. This daily adventure can be done twice a month to inspire creativity, exploration, and fun along the road as you talk about life, love, and happiness on the open road. When we plan family vacations we usually go away, there is so much of our own town we haven’t explored. Making a day trip around town to a new location is the perfect date.
Go Fishing
If you’re a country person and enjoy hanging out at the local lake or pond to do some fishing, then a summer date night idea could be just that. Grab your poles and tackle box, perhaps some snacks and spend the day fishing together as a couple. We love to take our kayaks out and fish from them.
Outdoor Movie Date
Summer weather calls for outdoor movie nights! We recently purchased a projection screen and projector for hosting outdoor movie nights at home. However, we also have two local drive-in movies we can visit. Watching a movie under the stars is fun and a great way to enjoy a new flick while cuddled together enjoying the summer.
Take an Evening Walk
Take an evening stroll with your partner as often as possible. This little walk around the neighborhood may not sound like much, but it truly can be a good way to reconnect for a summer date night. During the hot summer months, evening hours are the best time to be outdoors walking. It is a simple way to connect and chat about your days. Bring along the pups and let the kids do their homework while you are gone.
Go to a Concert
The summer season brings many concerts close to your local area. Find an outdoor concert event and plan a summer date night with your partner. Enjoy live music, festivities, and dancing while experiencing your favorite band up close and personal.
These are just a few summer date night ideas for couples that will truly help reignite the bond and passion between you two. It’s important to take a moment to pause together so that you can get back on the same page and make sure your relationship bond maintains strength.
