It’s been a while since I shared some of my other blog posts and articles written on eLivingMedia.com. I now not only am a columnist for ELM but I actually own it. Lori handed over ELM to me in mid-April which is very exciting. I haven’t finished transferring everything over yet and haven’t even fully updated the About page. Life has been pretty busy lately, to say the least.
A few of the things I have been writing when I’m not writing here:
In February we discussed teens and cutting. T and her friend were watching the news when they announced Demi Lovato was admitted into rehab for cutting. This sprung a conversation about other teens that attend their middle school that were considered ‘Emo’ who also cut themselves. I love Cirque Du Soleil shows. I’ve seen four different Cirque Du Soleil shows so far and I must say OVO was one of my favorites. We had the full Tapis Rouge experience with circus themed hor d’oeuvres such as chicken wrapped in cotton candy. It was all so delicious! The show was fantastic. In March I had a psychic reading done via phone. For pure entertainment purposes of course… sort of. It was interesting to hear some of the things the psychic told me. I documented the whole reading in a blog post and it’ll be neat to read next year and see if anything the psychic said came true. I went to New Orleans in April to attend the Mom 2.0 Summit Social Media Conference. Visiting New Orleans and walking Bourbon St. was an experience to say the least. Half the people walking around believed it was still Mardi Gras. One of the nights we were in New Orleans, Nicolas Cage got arrested. Crazy, huh? While the kids and I were in Orlando, FL for the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration we spent a day at Universal Studios. We are all really big Harry Potter fans so touring the Wizarding World of Harry Potter was a highlight of the trip. The kids loved it! As you know, I’m a single mother. I’ve had my fair share of dating including some online dating, meaning the first dates are the first encounters meeting the man. Universal Studios made a big announcement recently and I was lucky enough to listen in on the live web cast. In 2012 they are adding a new attraction to their theme park. The Despicable Me experience is beyond just 3D action. It’s also much more than just a ride. You can read all about the new Despicable Me Experience coming to Universal Studios in 2012 on ELM.
