CoverGirl and Olay Beauty Makeover
I recently had the opportunity to join a campaign with Collective Bias where I got to meet with a beauty consultant. I put together four questions that were important to me and my daughters that I hoped the CoverGirl and Olay products could assist with.
My teen and I have sensitive skin, especially on our faces. What sunscreen do you recommend for the face that will not leave us oily when wearing makeup?
I suggest the Olay Complete for sensitive skin. The green label on Olay products represents our sensitive line. Oil free, fragrance free and created for sensitive skin with broad spectrum SPF 15 will work perfect for you. Most makeup has some SPF in it but this moisturizer will give you plenty of protection while spending time running around during the day.
My tween has severe issues with black heads and she is already starting to get large pores. Which products do you recommend for removing and preventing black heads and reducing pores?
Since the skin is sensitive you need gently cleansing products. Try Gentle Foaming Face Wash without stripping essential oils skin produces. Never over scrub skin. When the skin is covered in dirt and dries out it causes blackheads. The dirt is oxidized and turns brown under the skin. It’s similar to an apple that is cut open and left out for oxygen to dry it out, it turns brown. Gently cleansing the skin and moisturizing it will reduce blackheads and pore size.
I usually wear only mineral makeup. Which eye shadow do you recommend in neutral colors that’s long lasting? Mine seems to wear off fairly quick.
First I recommend you try the primer. This helps lock the makeup into place and it also goes on a lot smoother after you use just a little primer underneath. When applying to your eye lids only use a very small amount under your eyeshadow. Then try the 4 kit CoverGirl eyeshadow in Country Woods #215 or slightly deep hues Urban Basics #220. Use a wet flat brush for color intensity and longer wear.
I rarely venture outside my comfort zone of neutral colors. Is there a recommendation you have for me to try out this spring?
I recommend you try a color eyeliner. For a more subtle look you can use it only under the bottom lash if you’d like. I highly recommend the green glow.
After consulting with the beauty expert I went about shopping. There were so many options of products in the Olay and CoverGirl line and many, many colors. Meeting with a beauty consultant helped me know which products would be best for my needs and the needs of my tween. When I went home I was feeling brave enough to try a green eyeliner although I was skeptical it would look good.
I assume the primer is a hot item because the Walmart location I shop at was sold out of it completely. I am looking forward to trying it out as soon as they get more in stock.
Meeting with the beauty consultant helped me and my tween, especially with her acne. She is at the age where it bothers her. My oldest daughter also has sensitive skin so she will be able to use the same moisturizer as my tween. My favorite part is the SPF. That’s so important to me since my mom had skin cancer.
I love spending time bonding with my daughters. Beauty products always give us something to talk about. My oldest recently went to her military ball and we are preparing for our Disney Cruise in August where we will get dressed up for dinner. Our goal is for her to have smooth clear skin by then.
You can view all of my photos taken during my shopping experience and my experience at home testing the products on my Google+ story. Each photo on Google+ has captions to tell you more about my experience and thoughts on each product.
