I feel like owning a Winnie the Pooh movie is almost a rite of passage. Jim Cummings said it best when describing Pooh “it’s like a pipeline to your childhood no matter how old you are”. My oldest daughter had her nursery decorated in Winnie the Pooh and I know she will share these characters with her children one day.

Christopher Robin and Pooh

What I love most about Christopher Robin is how the roles have reversed. In previous stories, Christopher Robin spends his childhood saving his sweet cuddly friends. He runs around Hundred Acre Wood playing with them, teaching them, and helping them find courage and friendship. He pulls Eeyore out of waterfalls and cheers him up when he is feeling blue.

In the live-action Winnie the Pooh tale, Christopher Robin has grown up and lost sight of what is important in life. He has forgotten how to make time for his family and stop to enjoy making memories. He is a hard worker and dedicated to his job to provide for his family and doesn’t see a way around it. Now it is time for Pooh to come to his rescue.

We see Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet, and Tigger leave Hundred Acre Wood to visit London on a mission to save Christopher Robin. 

When I first watched the movie I expected only Christopher Robin to hear their voices. I assumed it would be in his imagination, but that is not the case. Without giving away spoilers it is so fun and silly to watch these characters get caught talking.

My son loves watching all the bonus features on any movie we own or rent. It intrigues him to see how movies are made or hear what the cast goes through during the filming process. One of my favorite bonus features on Christopher Robin is where they show the work that went into making the characters look old and worn.

Thanks to Disney Studios, I was able to attend a Friendsgiving lunch to celebrate the release of Christopher Robin Blu-ray and see the characters up close. It is fascinating to see how they truly look like someone’s old favorite stuffed animals.

  16. Eeyore is my favorite charachter from Christopher Robin. I think that he is funny. I didn’t get a chance to see this movie in theaters. I can’t wait to see it.

  44. Winnie the Pooh is my favorite character. I used to have a 45 of Rumbly in My Tumbly when I was a kid. I wish I still had it.
