Casting Crowns – Thrive
Ever have a rainy day that needed some uplifting music? Over the last week storms have traveled through the DFW area, even knocking down one of our trees causing damage to my vehicle and our home. Although it was pretty scary at the moment, I wasn’t upset or stressed out about it. In some ways we just laughed it off and didn’t really invest much emotion into it. Truth be told I was more bothered over the fact that the tree broke our satellite dish and therefore hindered our evening plans of watching a new show we had been waiting on for months. It interrupted my family bonding time with my teen daughter which is all I cared about at that moment. My family…
The tree fell down about 20 minutes after my son walked by the very spot after school. It crashed onto the porch exactly 20 minutes before my husband arrived home with our daughter he pushes in her wheelchair along the same path. Did the tree cause damage that ultimately cost us money? Yes. And that’s okay. We had to buy a chainsaw the very next day to cut the tree up to haul off, but we needed a new chainsaw so it was an investment that would eventually happen. We pay homeowners insurance for situations like this as well as motor insurance for our vehicles.
Similar to storms that blow through a city, chaos can crash right into your daily life. Similar to the tree falling down we must keep faith that everything will work out in the end. I know our family was blessed that the tree did not hurt anyone. The house was not damaged to the point we had water flowing through our living room and the financial expenses were paid because we were blessed to have the money in our bank account. Those reasons alone are enough to sing our praises.
When Family Christian asked me if I was interested in reviewing the new Casting Crowns Thrive CD, of course I shouted yes. My family already loves the band and has several of their songs on our iPhones and iPods that we play regularly. We sing their songs at our church during praise and worship. Playing the new album while driving the kids around was perfect. Several of the songs are easy for us all to sing along to, even the kids can quickly pick up the words. One of our favorites from the CD is Dream For You.
I was going to try and surprise my teenage with it for Christmas but I couldn’t wait. We ripped it open and inserted it into the CD player immediately. We have already listened to the entire track all the way through a minimum of four times. The words of the songs really speak to you. Whether you are struggling with a storm of your own, working on moving towards a dream or simply trying to figure out the direction the Lord is leading you – Casting Crowns makes the best praise music for inspiration or celebration.
Luckily I get to share a Casting Crowns Thrive CD with one lucky reader. Entry is simple, just follow the steps in the Rafflecopter form below.
