5 Scriptures When You Need Energy
It can be a tough balance to try and meet the demands of everyday life and still have enough energy for ourselves at the end of the day. First of all, I’d like to challenge you.
Are you busier than you should be in life? God calls us to meet other’s needs but not at the expense of ourselves or our relationship with Him. I wanted to share five scriptures that are perfect for you when you need that extra boost of energy and reminder that God’s here for you each and every moment of the day.
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. {Matthew 11:28}
This is probably one of my favorite verses of all time. When you are tired, weary, and just need rest, then you know where to turn. Always turn to Jesus!
He gives strength to the weary, and increases the power of the weak. {Isaiah 40:29}
Have you ever been so tired and so weary that you’re not even sure how you made it through the day? That is totally God leading you through and helping you. Whenever you feel weary and tired, don’t be afraid to ask for help, God’s right there to lead you through.
Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. {Hebrews 12:3}
Sometimes the ways we grow weary are different. If your faith is diminishing because of things you are going through, consider what Jesus went through for you! I never want you to grow weary and lose heart, and you shouldn’t have to because God is right beside you! I think this verse fits into so many categories in life, but especially when we need more energy in life or in our Faith.
Refresh my heart in Christ. {Philemon 1:20}
If this verse doesn’t speak to your heart, then ask for it to! Sometimes our hearts just need a little refreshing and there’s nothing wrong with that. Don’t forget that our place is not in this world and our hearts will grow weary. Asking God to refresh your heart in Christ is a step in getting the energy you need to get through the day!
My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him. {Psalms 62:1}
Isn’t this verse wonderful? It’s great to know that as Christians, we have a place to rest our souls. Our souls need encouragement, rest, and rejuvenation. We serve a God who can meet all of those needs!
These verses are great to turn to when you need energy.
What’s your favorite go-to verse?
My favorite is Isaiah 40:31 – They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings as eagles. They shall run and not grow weary; they shall walk and not faint.
It reminds me that He is my strength and when I rest in Him He restores me.
And Psalm 118:14 – The LORD is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation.
Both of those are great as well, Erica. I need to make myself a printed list to hang in my office for daily reminders.
I like this one too! Thanks for sharing
What an awesome list of scriptures! I like “Come unto me all you who labor and are heavy burdened and I will give you rest.” when I find myself working too much an not sitting at His feet.
