3 Weeks Down – Knock Out The Fat With George Foreman

|

Happy Memorial Day!  Since today was a holiday and the kids were home from school we decided to cook on the grill a little early today.  It was our first time to prepare sea food on the George Foreman.  It turned out great!  So much easier to manage cooking Tilapia on the George Foreman than it is outside on my regular grill.  T loves shrimp so we prepared some of that as well.  Of course we grilled the squash and zucchini but I prefer my asparagus steamed.

We had a small side of angel hair pasta with herb sauce.  I know that’s not the most healthy side item but I love pasta and don’t want to completely remove it from my diet so instead of it being a main dish, I’m trying it in moderation on the side maybe once or twice a week.  {It used to be 5 times a week as main dish}

Of course the most common meal in the house is grilled chicken.  It’s super easy and goes well with any side and can be prepared several different ways.  When cooking Tilapia today I also cooked an extra chicken breast to shred tomorrow in my salad for lunch.  The George Foreman is so easy to cook with that I was able to toss on an additional piece of meat instead of dirtying dishes two days in a row.  Plus it saves time.

My weight stayed roughly the same.  I’m not surprised with Gabby having yet another surgery this week and T having her military ball, I wasn’t home much to get enough exercise in.  However today I did start Zumba on the Wii which was a lot of fun.  It also kicked my butt!  I’m happy with my two pounds of weight loss and am now ready to tone it up!  I am also very pleased with the kids and my choices of healthy dishes over our past usual junk food.  They are eating more fruit and yogurt instead of chips.  Cashews are very popular in the house now instead of gold fish crackers.  Today we even opted for popsicles made from juice over ice cream.

Have a fun healthy recipe you want me to try on the George Foreman?  If you share a recipe with me, I’ll link to you in my next blog post.
