Psychic Reading – Facts or Fiction?

I was recently given the opportunity to have a free 10 minute psychic reading done over the phone.  At first I was nervous that the psychic would tell me something negative about my future.  Isn’t that silly?  I’m not even sure if they give bad news…  After I pushed past the nervous feelings of the unknown… ‘is a psychic real and is what they tell me really going to happen or not‘ I was excited and looked forward to just having fun with it.

A quirk of mine is reading my horoscope daily.  I’ve read my horoscope since I was a tween and read it weekly in a magazine.  Do I live by it?  No.  Do I think it’s fun to read and sometimes eerie that it’s so accurate?  Yes.  Do I understand that not every Pisces in the world could possible have the same daily forecast in the departments of love, career and life in general?  Absolutely.

What I liked most about talking to a psychic over the phone was how personalized they made the reading.  Instead of just reading your horoscope or doing some other fun fortune teller experience, a psychic reading is more direct.  I was given the option of which psychic I wanted to talk to by listening to their short recorded introductions.  Once I selected the psychic to receive my reading from I was then transferred over to talk live.  At that point the timer starts.  She quickly said hello, introduced herself and asked my name and date of birth.  She then asked me what my question was.  I was stumped.  I had no idea I was supposed to come up with a question.  I guess I just thought she was going to start spewing out my fortune.

Since I wasn’t prepared with a direct question I asked her to tell me about my career.  She saw big changes taking place anytime from June to November of this year.  She saw some traveling in my future with friends and/or family as well as for work but nothing too exotic or expensive.  Bummer, I was hoping for exotic. She said the career changes will be financially favorable and I’ll be able to put some money back for savings.  She reminded me that patience is the key and anything can happen.  Also with the big career changes, she mentioned I could be planting seeds now for something that will pay off later.  The psychic didn’t foresee any obstacles in my way this year and that things seem to be pretty smooth.  Another funny comment she made was ‘I don’t see any drama this year, which is good because you have had too much of it in your past‘.

Once she finished up the career outlook I asked about relationships.  She was somewhat quiet as she said ‘I don’t see a significant other showing in your reading’.  She then says she doesn’t see much love life for me this year.  Not that I wouldn’t go on any dates but she doesn’t see anything meaning much to me in the area of importance or lasting.  She did proceed to tell me she saw me meeting someone next year.  At first we’ll start off just as friends and then venture into more.  He’ll most likely come from a past marriage that ended in divorce, have two sons and his first or last name will start with either the letter R or D.  She predicts he will be a fire sign: Leo, Aries or Sagittarius which she believes are all compatible signs for me.  I was a little shocked at the details she gave.  With career she was a little more vague than with the love life reading.

Some of the points the psychic gave were accurate with my life now and some I will only know once that time comes.

• I already have four trips planned between now and June for travel {none of which are exotic or too expensive, some with family, friends & work}

• I have been planting seeds for work and working towards a larger goal that I can only hope takes off by June.

• My life has been filled with drama in ways of my daughter’s special needs and medical care which lead me to changing my career, I hope this year will be more smooth

• I am a single mom and am not currently dating.

I’m eager to look back on this psychic reading in a few months to see if any of these predictions have come true.  Come next year if a man with a name that starts with a D or R walks into my life I might be slightly speechless.
