Howl-O-Scream and Sea World’s Spooktacular Event
As you know my family loves Sea World. We have been a countless number of times yet we’ve never made it out to their Howl-O-Scream or Spooktacular events. T and I love Halloween and we visit local haunted attractions yearly but traveling to San Antonio has never been in store for us… that is until this year. We have been looking forward to making the trip out to Sea World during the month of October all year long.
Since we live in the DFW area it’s a good 4-5 hour drive for us therefore it’s not easy to bring the little kids out to Spooktacular and not keep them at the park for Howl-O-Scream so I decided this trip would just be for T. I know Howl-O-Scream would be too scary for Noah and Gabby and unfortunately I wouldn’t have a sitter for them during the evening.
During the month of October Jack-o-Lantern hijacks the Sea World San Antonio blog and Facebook page. He takes over promoting the Howl-O-Scream and Spooktacular events and even threatens to take over the park. You can follow along with his personal tweets to get in the spirit of Halloween @JackReturns. His hashtag is #JackisBack which every year gets fans going crazy!
Up until 6 PM at night Sea World is filled with costume fun for kids of all ages. Sea World’s Spooktacular event is great for kids to have some trick-or-treating fun without worrying about the safety concerns in public, random neighborhoods. There are tons of fun characters out running around for some ghoulish yet non-scary good times. Pose for pictures and even fill your bag up with goodies.
I’m totally bummed that Gabby and Noah will miss this excitement and am adding it to our list of things to do next year for sure!
At 6:00 PM is the bewitching hour and the monsters come out. The Halloween festivities become a lot more scarier and that’s when it’s time for the big kids to come out and play. T and I are both giddy with excitement.
Not only are we excited about the thrills of finally being able to ride the roller coasters without having little ones there and about the haunted attractions, we are excited to see the elaborate Halloween shows. We’re both always amazed at the makeup put into the costumes during this holiday. It’s fascinating to us. Not to mention it cracks me up to see how scared T gets.
Doesn’t that photo just looking inviting and make you want to wonder into the forest?
I have previously compared three seasons of Sea World, being Spring, Summer and Winter. After this weekend I’ll get to add Fall to the list. I can’t wait to share photos from our trip and of course as always I’ll be tweeting while I’m there. You can follow along @MommaDJane to see what I capture to Instagram.
Have you been to Sea World? What’s your favorite time of year to visit? Do you love haunted attractions like we do?
Good to see that they have little kid friendly events, we always get nervous about taking the little girls around Halloween.
Awesome looks like alot of fun!
That photo of the forest looks scary!! Lol
Wow… I didn’t know they did this. What a great idea. Our little girl would love the non-scary parts. As for walking into those woods… um… I think daddy will take a pass. 😉
The forest picture makes me want to run far afar away…but in a good way;) Sounds like a really neat Halloween party they put on!
I went to Sea World for the first time a few years ago. ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT…. Would love to go again. Think it would be fun to go during my favorite holiday. HALLOWEEN…
What a fun way to experience Sea World! I’m not big on haunted events, but the costumes look like fun!

I’ve only been to Sea World in Orlando, but this looks like a blast!
Looks like alot of FUN!! Hope I win!
The kiddos LOVE Halloween at Sea World! They look forward to seeing Jack EVERY year! There is something for everyone, so it is a must go!
The pictures are amazing! We’ve been to Sea World but have yet to attend during Halloween! My girls would love this and looks like all ages can enjoy this time!
Would love to take my 21 month old grandbaby!
When my kids were younger (they are 20 now), we would always go to SeaWorld at Halloween time! Thanks for reminding me!
I plan on visiting Sea World before Halloween with my grandchildren. Very exciting!
Thank you for the review,
Teresa
I love SeaWorld, have been to both in San Antonio and Orlando, and we are planning on going back this Christmas season (in San Antonio). I have only been there during spring or summer, so I am excited to see the winter season and if they have something special for Christmas. The Halloween looks like so much fun, I wish we were going already now!
Sea World is a favorite of my grandkids. They live out of state, where there is no Sea World. We enjoyed it in in May a few years ago. They were enchanted. We plan on going back during Christmas. Can’t wait. I’m hopeing we can all go at Halloween next year! Your pictures of the Frightmare Forest, the wonderful Halloween shows, and the amazing costumes, show us, whenever we go, it will be one of those “memory” trips with Grandpa and Grandma!
Husband and boys (2 & 4) have never been and I’ve only been once on Orlando! We are so excited for our November trip. 15 hours to get there but we were looking for a road trip and our almost 5 year old is crazy about animals especially sea life, so San Antonio it is!
OMG – this puts our “Boo @ the Zoo” to shame!!! How FUN this must be…. Definitly goes on my “Bucket list” of things we want to do w/our Grandkids as they grow up!!! Really looks like a blast! 😉
The entrance guy looks soo creepy 😀
Have you been to Sea World? Yes I have and I love Sea World San Antonio because its so close. My little ones are so young we love the Sesame Street breakfast and the Sesame Street Live show.
What’s your favorite time of year to visit? I love the winter because there are absolutely NO lines and they give out free hot chocolate. Little tip I accidentally stumbled upon.
Do you love haunted attractions like we do? I hate to say it but NO! Some people have a flight or fight response and I get the fight response. So scary people I might just start hitting. I dont’ want to hurt anybody.
I have been to Sea World as a child, but have not had the opportunity to take my children. This time of year seems like the perfect time. My children would love the Halloween atmoshphere.

This looks AWESOME! I love Sea World anyway, but I had no idea they did things for Halloween. My kiddos would love it there. And, I love the idea of the safe trick-or-treating.
I love that it is great for kids of all ages!!!
