Family Crafts
This past Spring I started saving empty toilet paper rolls to make a fun Easter craft that Noah saw in a magazine. Funny part about it was that Noah was so trained on saving the toilet paper rolls and putting them with our craft supplies that I had to finally remind him to throw them away. We have several empty rolls left even today. He is at the age where he thinks it’s fun to make anything and everything. Of course the more creative the better.
On our iPad we have the Family Fun Magazine app that not only gives you ideas of kid crafts to make but also provides the full how-to guide with step by step instructions and illustrations. Noah and Gabby both like browsing through the app and showing me all the fun crafts they find. Many of the crafts you can easily make with supplies you have at home.
The kids know where we store our craft supplies. I have two sets of plastic drawers with everything somewhat organized. The easy to use craft kits are sorted in one drawer while the stickers and beads are in another drawer. We love to find items on clearance at various stores and stock up our craft selection. It’s fun to try and see what we can make from specific supplies we find. Purchasing the main kid craft items from stores like Factory Direct Craft such as foam sheets, cutouts and glitter is a great way to save money on the items you use most.
Simple kid crafts and activity sheets really saved us on our road trip to visit family this summer. Fun projects are another great way to stay cool during this heat wave we are experiencing. The Texas heat has been brutal!
What’s your favorite craft you’ve made with your kids? Where do you find your best craft ideas?
