Planning Vacations

It’s the time of the year when I start planning family summer vacations.  I travel quite a bit throughout the year for conferences therefore I try to squeeze in as many family trips with the kids as possible.  In June I have a blogger event at Sea World in San Antonio to attend.  It’s our yearly Wildside reunion three years running and I can’t wait.  We always have a blast when we visit Sea World, it’s one of Noah’s favorite places.

The kids had so much fun on the Disney Cruise last year.  They truly loved playing on the beach so this summer I hope to take them to the coast again.  We are hoping to visit South Padre Island here in Texas.  It’s not too far of a drive, therefore much more reasonable than a cruise.  After visiting Disney World in March we are trying to do something closer to home for our family vacation this summer.  A trip that is less expensive this time around.

While planning the trip I have been searching online for places to stay and things to do.  I haven’t visited South Padre Island since I was 18 and went on Spring Break, taking the kids this time around makes the whole experience different.  Ordering a vacation guide has been helpful.  They send brochures right to my door so I am able to see numerous places in the area all free of charge.  I not only like this option in helping me plan my vacation but also since I enjoy writing about travel it’s a great resource to have.

When do you plan your family vacations?  Do you know where you’ll travel to this year?
