Valentine Card Collage
Fun free craft to do with your kids for Valentine’s Day.
Do your children come home with tons of Valentine cards from school? Do you watch them get wasted by being thrown out the next day? Here is an easy craft to do with your kids that is fun, creative and a great way to turn those Valentine cards into cute wall decor or scrapbook page.
In order to create this craft to share with you before my children bring home their Valentine’s Day party cards, I bought a $2 box of cards from Walmart and let Noah help me. This gave him a chance to participate in the fun craft even though he isn’t school age yet.
Supplies Needed:
- Small poster board, sheet of construction paper or regular printer paper
- Elmers glue, a glue stick or even tape will work
- Children’s Valentine cards brought home from school
- any scrapbook accents or stickers (not necessary)
- Draw a shape on your post board {We created a heart and initial of my son’s name}
- Scatter out the Valentine cards in no particular order
- Teach child to only place cards within the lines of the shape
- Either cut cards to form shape or in several small pieces to spread out
- Place glue on back of cards at random to place on poster board
- If working with younger child then spread glue on board instead of card
- Once shape has been filled with Valentine cards feel free to add stickers or scrapbook accents to complete
How-To create a Valentine Collage:
{Noah was so proud of his creation}
After I finished the heart shown at the top of this post I then added scrapbook letters to make the word Valentine. You can easily do this to add your child’s name or year for a scrapbook page. These make great keepsakes or just wall art for a few days. An easy craft to turn cards into something fun for the family to do and nice to view before throwing out.
