Large Family Suite at Gaylord Texan
Our family received a media stay in exchange for our honest feedback.
Traveling as a large family is not always easy. Usually when staying in hotels we have to book double rooms and if we are lucky we get them adjoining. You would be surprised at how many hotels do not have many adjoining rooms, making it difficult to feel comfortable with your kids in a separate room. Now that our kids are teenagers we have more peace of mind allowing them to have their own room. However, our recent stay in a large family suite at the Gaylord Texan was our favorite accommodation for our family of seven.
The family suite we stayed in had two separate rooms. The suite was very spacious so we never felt cramped or on top of one another. There was plenty of space for everyone to store their luggage without tripping over it. Bonus!
When you first enter the suite you are greeted with a smaller bedroom hosting a queen size bed, TV, access to the bathroom through one door and another door for privacy. When walking through the privacy door into the main area of the suite you find a very comfortable living area with chairs and a couch that pulls out into a bed beside a separate king size bed. We had our daughter in a wheelchair and there was plenty of room to turn her chair and push her around the room. That was a huge blessing for us.
The bathroom is also accessible from the main living area with a two-way entrance. The sink and counter has plenty of room to get ready while the shower and toilet are in a separate section with a privacy door.
My favorite part of any room at the Gaylord Texan is the balcony. I love the view of the resort.
The entire resort is so clean and well kept. We love the customer service we receive. Although the Gaylord Texan is close to home, we feel like we are on a vacation in a new place.
There are multiple restaurants and lots of scenery to walk around and enjoy. Our favorite restaurant we eat at each time is the Riverwalk Cantina. The Mexican Food is delicious and the steak fajitas are to die for. We spend time walking around the riverwalk and taking family photos on every visit.
If you are traveling in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and have a large family, I highly recommend you try out the two-bedroom family suites at the Gaylord Texan. We cannot wait for our next trip.
