It is no spoiler that the final chapter in the Maze Runner series opens with a pretty epic train hijack scene. From the trailer you can see Thomas and his friends band together to save some of the innocent victims WCKD captured. After Maze Runner: The Scorch Trails left us feeling betrayed by a character we grew to love, it was nice to see their teamwork and fighting back.

This third installment put more spotlight on Newt (Thomas Brodie-Sangster). Brodie-Sangster was given the opportunity to shine in his acting. He played out all emotions on the big screen and you felt it. This gave him the chance to add more depth to his character than what we had previously seen.

Although the movie opened with a lot of action, it slowed down quickly, then picked back up at the end. I felt some parts were too predictable. I have not read the books so I cannot compare the story lines, I can only compare to the previous two films. This one felt longer, even though it was only ten minutes more than the second.

The director did a good job at pulling you through an emotional scene to only reel you back in a short time later. My daughters both fought back the tears a couple of times in the movie. One has read the series which gave her more of a connection with the characters. She owns both of the first two movies on DVD and I know this one will be added to her list.

In the epic finale to the Maze Runner saga, Thomas leads his group of escaped Gladers on their final and most dangerous mission yet. Anyone who makes it out alive will get answers to the questions the Gladers have been asking since they first arrived in the maze.
