Becoming a military mom has been an experience I never expected. It presents a whole new level to be supportive of my daughter. When she was gone for six months with the United States Army, we worked hard to get her home setup and ready for her return. Now we love finding ways to support the USO. See how you can Share a Coke with your military hero today!

Although my daughter’s six months leave is finished, she attends training one weekend each month. When she is gone my son, her younger brother, stays in her tiny home to care for her cat. When I saw these exclusive limited-edition military Coca-Cola™ cans, I had to get them. I wanted to surprise her when she got home.

You can find the 5-can military series exclusively at Dollar General. Both my grandfather and my husband’s grandfather served in the military so we picked up a can that said Veteran in memory of them.

My daughter has her great-grandfather’s dog tags hanging in her car and his American flag in her home. She feels honored to follow in his footsteps.

The new limited-edition cans come with five different titles on them. Veteran, Service Member, Military Spouse, Military Mom and Military Dad.

I was so happy to see the Military Mom and Military Dad Coca-Cola cans. Often times the parents are forgotten when it comes time to show appreciation. Being a military mom is not always easy. It can be scary and tough. We try very hard to always be supportive and understanding, not to mention patient with the military schedule…

When our daughter graduated basic training we drove from Texas to Missouri to be there, we even took her younger siblings out of school to witness such an important event.

We are proud to have a Service Member in our family. Below are some tips for filling a basket of goodies to show your appreciation to your military hero this summer.

Military Appreciation Gift Basket

  • Ice cold Coca-Cola military cans
  • Succulent plant – needs least amount of care, perfect for busy military members. Usually you only water it once a week, sometimes less.
  • Cute America home decor. Patriotic decor is so cute nowadays and this is the perfect time of the year to find it on sale.
  • Novel or music to help your soldier relax after stressful military training.
  • Candle or home scent for them to enjoy and refresh their room after being gone a few days.
  • Outdoor hanging USA flag. These are popular in the summertime and perfect to watch flying in the wind while sitting on your porch.

We filled my daughter’s small refrigerator with the new Coca-Cola cans for her return.

Please join Dollar General, the USO, and Coca-Cola by helping us reach our goal of sending 25K messages of support and thanks to our nation’s service members and their families. The message you send will go directly to service members around the world – a simple way to say ‘thanks’ to those who serve our country with dedication and honor each day.
