The Boss Baby – In Theaters March 31st
My family was given the opportunity to attend a media screening of the movie The Boss Baby over spring break. My expectations were not very high when going into this movie screening. I expected the film to be a little cheesy and geared towards a much younger child audience.
DreamWorks Animation and the director of Madagascar invite you to meet a most unusual baby. He wears a suit, speaks with the voice and wit of Alec Baldwin, and stars in the animated comedy, DreamWorks’ The Boss Baby. The Boss Baby is a hilariously universal story about how a new baby’s arrival impacts a family, told from the point of view of a delightfully unreliable narrator, a wildly imaginative 7 year old named Tim. With a sly, heart-filled message about the importance of family, DreamWorks’ The Boss Baby is an authentic and broadly appealing original comedy for all ages.
The beginning of the movie started off a little confusing. Tim’s imagination is very strong and the film shows his make-believe adventures. So when the new baby brother was first introduced I almost thought what Tim was seeing wasn’t real. I thought maybe the talking baby was part of his imagination. However, the story behind why the baby can talk and how he is a little ‘spy’ is quickly revealed.
The movie has many hilarious parts. I found myself laughing almost non-stop throughout the film. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I truly enjoyed it. There are many jokes that are geared towards all ages.
Throughout the movie you see the two boys team up together to try and achieve a common goal, even though they claim to dislike one another. Tim just wants his parents back, all to himself. The Boss Baby wants to complete his job and go back to the corporate office, instead of being stuck living the life of a real helpless baby.
There are several scenes where Tim has to step out of his comfort zone and help his baby brother even though he doesn’t want to. It shows how responsible he is as a sibling. I loved seeing how real life lessons were played out on the big screen for kids to see.
I recommend taking a break this weekend and heading to your local theater with the family to see this new flick. The Boss Baby is sure to get some laughs and maybe encourage some sibling bonding amongst your children.
