Homemade Hanging Baskets

If you like plants but either don’t have a garden area, or would just prefer to brighten up your front door and porch with some hanging baskets, you can create beautiful baskets without going to the store and paying a fortune for them. All you need is a pretty bowl, some colorful string or rope, and perhaps ceramic paint if you want to decorate the basket further. You’ll need to tie the rope into a specific knot to carry the weight of the basket and also allow it to hang up evenly. If you’re painting the bowl, it’s advisable to do this the day before you’re ready to hang your basket, to give it plenty of time to dry and set. It’s up to you whether you then put a potted plant into the bowl or decide to fill it with soil and some specially selected bulbs to grow your own plant in the basket. This is more of a spring or summer craft activity, giving you loads of time to see your basket bloom and brighten up the front of your home.
