10 Scriptures to Uplift Mothers

Mondays can be tough and sometimes we just need a little inspiration.  Are you a mom who is feeling a little tired, stressed, or maybe both? God has given you a big job to do and He’s also given you scripture to help you through those long hard days. Check out these scriptures that will help remind you what really matters at the end of the day.

And Mary said: “My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for he has been mindful of the humble state of his servant. From now on all generations will call me blessed- Luke 1:46-48

Just remember that you were created to live and honor God. When you struggle with those day to day tasks, just remember that they all matter and they are not in vain. Does your soul glorify God?

My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. -Psalms 73:26

No mother is perfect and you may have times where you fail greatly, but keep this verse in mind. When you do not think you have any strength left, draw it from Him.

He tends to his flock like a shepherd: he gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those who have young.- Isaiah 40:11

Moms need reminded that they are loved and cared for too. Don’t forget how much your heavenly Father loves and cares for you. He will also help you while you guide your “young” throughout life.

Her {wisdom’s} ways are pleasant ways, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her; those who hold her fast will be blessed. -Proverbs 3:17-18

Sometimes when you don’t know which path you’re headed in, or which way you’re leading your children think of the ultimate impact you’re having on their lives spiritually, emotionally, and physically.

Isaiah 4422

I have swept away your offenses like a cloud, your sins like the morning mist.  Return to me, for I have redeemed you. -Isaiah 44:22

As a mom, you will never be able to please everyone at once. That is why it’s important to remember that your offenses are wiped away by the One who redeemed you and set you free.

As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgression from us.  -Psalms 103:12

This is one of my favorite verses for so many reasons, but mostly because it reminds me that although sometimes I feel like a lousy mom, this isn’t a feeling that will last forever. If I made a mistake, it’s okay to move on and know I’m forgiven.

For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.  -Psalms 100:5

When you’re having “one of those days” just go back to the basics and remember that God’s love is good and his love endures forever. It’s easy to forget what your purpose in life is, but when you come back to the Creator it all makes sense.

Because you are my help, I sing in the shadow of your wings. -Psalms 63:7

Motherhood is not an easy walk, and if you think you can do it on your own… Let’s just say when you need help, do not be afraid to ask God to help you walk through it. You are not alone.

And may the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus! -Philippians 4:7

Isn’t this verse so beautiful? No matter what’s going on in your life as a mother, just remember that God can help you through it. God’s peace can transcend all understanding and deliver that peace to us.

I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sin no more. -Isaiah 43:25

Whether you’re a new mom or you have been a mom for years, you’ve probably figured out you’re not perfect. Instead of dwelling on the lies that Satan delivers, dwell on the promises of God: the promises of forgiveness and a life of eternity.

I hope these verses help you each and every day you walk this path of motherhood. While it’s never an easy road, you have a pretty awesome God on your side to help you through it.
