Sweet Tomatoes Gluten-Free Style

I developed a love for Sweet Tomatoes almost four years ago when they catered T’s 13th birthday party.  Her and I went to our local Sweet Tomatoes restaurant and sampled several items on their menu for catering.  When I was approached about their new gluten-free menu I couldn’t wait to head back over and test it out.  Being gluten-free now for four months has not been an easy transition when going out to eat at restaurants.  Although we have enjoyed cooking more meals at home and saving money on those expensive restaurant tabs, it’s nice to have a break and treat ourselves to a meal out now and then.

As soon as I walked in the door of Sweet Tomatoes I was able to immediately tell which pre-made salads were gluten-free.  The signs above each dish was clearly labeled.  There were several employees behind the counter and I asked one about their new gluten-free menu since I know it changes monthly and they quickly handed me a full nutritional brochure for all of their menu items.

What I loved about this brochure is that it not only tells you what is gluten-free but also all nutritional facts so if you have a different allergy or are on a specific diet this would be beneficial to you. It also lists all their food items, even if they aren’t being served that month so you can keep the brochure year round.

A new dish I devoured right away was the Dill & Dijon Potato. I also enjoy their extremely fresh salad bar.  All of their salad dressings were gluten-free so it made it very easy for me to decide which flavor I wanted without fear.  My all time favorite dish at Sweet Tomatoes is still the same after three years, Broccoli Madness.

After my healthy lunch I treated myself to some soft serve ice cream in a dish.  Their toppings are even gluten-free, although I prefer my ice cream mostly plain.

Some of the other items from their gluten-free menu that were at Sweet Tomatoes the day I visited was their baked potato bar and two different types of chili.  I didn’t get a chance to sample either of those after filling up on all the other deliciousness.

Find a Sweet Tomatoes location near you plus check out what is on their menu this month {it varies monthly}.
