I received a book for review purposes. No compensation was received. All opinions are 100% my own.

Zoe’s Room is a delightful children’s book about a little girl’s love of her own universe – her room – and the disruption that ensues when she learns she has to share it with her little sister.

Author Bethanie Deeney Murguia does a fabulous job of getting into Zoe’s head and speaking from her point of view. She has to learn how to open her heart and mind and allow her little sister in.  All the activities she is used to playing solo she has to learn how to play with her little sister – and it is completely different.  Her sister is clumsy, doesn’t play just right, and messes things up. But Bethanie Deeney Murguia ties it all up at the end with a warm lesson and Zoe does learn to appreciate her little sister.

This is a very common struggle – personal space vs. sharing with family members.  It is one older children across the country will relate to very easily! I love the virtue of love and understanding this book teaches, in a very simple and easy to understand way.  This book is best enjoyed by children ages 3-5 years.
