Wedding Unity Cross

June is known for being wedding season. My parents celebrate the anniversary on June 1st and my husband and I celebrate on June 14th. I always dreamed of having a beach wedding. Simple, yet beautiful. When planning our wedding I fell in love with the wedding unity cross. 

I shared on the blog about the tradition of putting together the cross during the wedding ceremony and how we planned to display it in our home. I received a lot of feedback on that post so I wanted to share the final photos from our actual wedding.

You can purchase the wedding unity cross in several color options. We opted for the dark masculine outer cross with the light ivory intricate inner cross.

The groom places the first cross into the base. Then the bride adds the inner cross in place.

Together we added the pegs to hold the two crosses in place.

Our wedding officiant read the formal steps and explained to our guests what each part represented. I think it turned out beautiful and was a lovely addition to our ceremony. Our unity cross came with small cards to hand out to each guest. You can see my first blog post where I show all the contents you will receive.

Once you get your wedding unity cross home you can glue the pegs into place. However, I haven’t done that. I like being able to clean it by separating the crosses at times. The base has a small drawer that we put our written wedding vows and a few sea shells from the wedding in as keepsakes.

Our wedding was a small beach ceremony on June 14th in Galveston. It was perfect for us. A short road-trip from where we live in Texas to have our family and close friends with us alongside the ocean.

I couldn’t have been happier on this day. I can’t even remember why we were laughing but I know we were all smiles, all day.
