This story is brought to you by Vocalpoint and Life Reimagined. All opinions are my own.
I was recently introduced to a new digital monthly subscription program designed by Dr. Phil to help you work through your past struggles, current hold-ups and achieve more than just written goals.
Become the Best Version of Yourself: A personal guided journey by Dr. Phil
At first I expected a life coaching program, like many others that I have seen. I was instantly impressed with the platform used to work through the program. You start by watching some introduction videos from Dr. Phil. He explains the program and how it works.
After taking the initial quiz I expected that I would score low, but I was surprised to score less than 50%. The questions are pretty deep and the exercises to get to your score are actually fun.
I strongly suggest keeping a journal beside you while you work through the program. Although it saves your responses and keeps them secure on your own profile to go back over and edit, I found it helpful to also write stuff down.
The clean interface keeps you from getting distracted and I love how the left side bar shows you your progress through the program. You can pick up right where you left off which comes in handy. I found the Ten Defining Moments a little challenging, emotionally.
When I first watched the video for the Ten Defining Moments, I thought… ‘okay, this is easy enough, I can handle this‘. Then I started working through them. You pinpoint ten events in your life that made a large impact. They can be negative or positive. If you start to have a difficult time coming up with ten moments in your life that you believe are worthy to note, you can read examples to jog your memory. Dr. Phil even shares some of his own defining moments from his childhood. I found this extremely helpful.
After you write down each defining moment, you analyze it and dig deeper by answering several questions that the program prompts. I admit some of the work through this exercise left me a little emotional and even triggered some tears. Each defining moment took quite a bit of time for me to work through. I was able to save my progress and take a break, then visit it again the next day. This is when the journal came in handy.
I can say that going into this program I had no idea the impact it would have on me. Maybe I expected some sort of goal reaching program with inspirational emails and a step-by-step method to achieve those goals. The Life Reimagined online course is so much more. I have experienced many ‘ah-ha’ moments and eye-opening realizations since starting this course three weeks ago. I cannot wait to dig even deeper.
I strongly recommend you give the Life Reimagined program a trial run. They are offering a 14-day trial free of charge. In 14 days you can really dig in, watch several of the videos, take a few quizzes and begin your journey. This program is designed to help individuals rediscover what truly matters, no matter what stage you are at in life.
