We live in the country and have a fondness for the outdoors. Camping is one of our favorite pastimes and hosting backyard gatherings is a close second. S’mores is always at the top of our list for a snack option. However, it is not always convenient to have a fire pit for roasting marshmallows so I put together this Fireless Simple S’mores Snack.
You can put together a quick s’mores buffet with a few ingredients.
- RITZ Crackers
- Mini Chocolate Chips
- Mini Marshmallows
- Marshmallow Cream
- Chocolate Sauce – optional
- Plastic knives for spreading marshmallow cream
My kids love RITZ Crackers. Although they pack them in their lunch, they are also the best snacks for on-the-go. We purchase the Fresh Stacks so my son can easily grab a small package before heading to his baseball game. It is common for us to top them with peanut butter to add a little protein to their after school snack.
Since it is rare to not find RITZ Crackers in our pantry, this was an easy grab when making our backyard fireless s’mores.
First, spread some marshmallow cream on your RITZ Cracker. This is where the lack of a fire pit is not a problem. You can get the gooey taste of melted marshmallow pressed between crackers without the time and hassle of roasting them yourself. Makes this recipe for simple s’mores perfect for all ages to make their own without supervision.
Sprinkle on a few mini chocolate chips. We purchased the semi-sweet ones since the marshmallow cream has so much sugar. The mini chocolate chips also allows you the ease of pressing two crackers together without the large clumps the full size chips make.
Top your RITZ Cracker with a couple of mini marshmallows.
Smash down your second RITZ Cracker to make a s’mores sandwich! These Fireless S’mores Snack are just as delicious as the originals. The marshmallow cream seeps out the sides and can get just as messy!
Another option is to drizzle chocolate sauce on top of your mini marshmallows. You can melt your mini chocolate chips if you have a fondue pot that you can plugin outdoors, but it is not necessary.
I picked up all the ingredients to setup our Fireless S’mores Snack table at Walmart. This weekend all Walmart stores are hosting demos for RITZ Crackers.
On Saturday, April 15th head to your local Walmart to get a free sample of RITZ Crackers, a free recipe handout with coupon and spin for a chance to win a Walmart gift card or a free box of RITZ! The in-store demo is also in partnership with Peter Pan® Creamy Peanut Butter.
