Escape Hunt Dallas – The Ultimate Live Escape Game

I have wanted to do an escape room experience for a few years now. I love solving puzzles and playing games is a favorite pastime for our family. When the Escape Hunt Dallas invited a group of bloggers to come take the challenge, I was beyond excited.

They started the morning off with brunch. We learned all about the options that Escape Hunt offers. From corporate Escape Room team building events and birthday parties to date nights and family outings. The recommended age is 10-years-old, based on the level of difficulty figuring out the clues. Children must be accompanied by an adult in the escape room.

Currently, they have three different games available with unique themed rooms. The rotation is roughly 18 months and then it’s time for fresh new challenges.

The entire atmosphere of the place is spectacular. You truly feel like you are about to solve a crime from the moment you walk in the door.

Jailhouse Justice

It’s the Wild West and your ranch has been accused of cattle rustling. There is only one punishment for cattle rustling: hanging. The gallows are being constructed as you sit in jail, but the sheriff is suddenly called away. You have only 60 minutes to escape and clear your name!

Minimum size: 4 players, Maximum size: 12 players

Circuit Overload

You and your team are members of a secret time traveling society and have been contracted by Michael S. Bell to find the origin of a world-changing computer hardware fault. However, the time portal will only be open for 60 minutes. You must investigate the past and bring back the solution in time or risk being trapped in the past forever!

Maximum size: 6 players

Texas Lone Star

The famous Texas Lone Star has been stolen from a museum near Dealey Plaza! As proud Dallas detectives, it is up to you to crack the case and hunt down the missing pieces hidden throughout DFW. The exhibition opens in 60 minutes so you must hurry!

Maximum size: 6 players

The smaller rooms can accommodate a single couple on a date night but may add up to six people total. Since there were only six of us we ventured into the Texas Lone Star challenge.

Did you know that only 25% of people escape the room within their allotted 60 minutes?

When I heard this my excitement turned into nervousness. I have a competitive side that would want to hold me in the room until I figured it all out, no matter how long it took!

Within the first few minutes of entering the Lone Star escape room I was about convinced we wouldn’t succeed. It was not easy! I wasn’t sure what to expect but there is no ‘start here’ mark. No intro letter or obvious clue. At the end we realized we figured out the first clue after solving a couple of others – so I guess there truly isn’t a real order. Although the Lone Star room can be done with only two people, I wouldn’t recommend it. Our team worked extremely well together and each of us brought our own skills to the game. We were all needed to beat the clock.

DFW Bloggers at Escape Hunt Dallas

We did it! We got out with about 13 minutes to spare. Without giving away details or spoiling it for anyone, I can say that I was pleasantly surprised and shocked at how much goes into each room. There were secret passageways that I did not expect. You almost feel like it is never ending and the clues and puzzles are drastically different with each step.

I seriously cannot wait to go back. I want to take the challenge in the Jailhouse Justice room. We got a quick sneak peek of what the inside looks like and it’s awesome. I plan to go with my husband and sons.

I highly recommend you check out Escape Hunt Dallas for a fun local activity.
